2026 Campfire Ban enacted in the Coastal Fire Centre

The Coastal Fire Centre has enacted the campfire ban. The Coastal Fire Centre covers ALL area of the Sunshine Coast including: public, private, park, beach, and shÃshálh Nation lands. Get up-to-date information and news on the Coastal Fire Centre website.
The following activities and use of equipment, materials and substances are also prohibited throughout the Coastal Fire Centre:
- Fireworks; as defined in the Fireworks Act;
- Binary exploding targets;
- Sky Lanterns
- Wood fired hot tubs, wood fired pizza ovens and other wood fired devices unless vented through a structure that has a flue and is incorporated in a building;
- Burn barrels or burn cages of any size or description;
- Controlled air incinerators
- Air curtain burners; and
- Carbonizers
Gas powered fire rings, tables, lamps are PERMITTED with flame height less than 15cm.
Briquette barbecues are PERMITTED, dispose of ashes properly.
