BC Fire Code
The BC Fire Code (BCFC) is a provincial regulation containing technical requirements for the construction, use or demolition of buildings and facilities and the design, construction and use of specific elements of facilities related to certain fire hazards, and protection measures for the current or intended use of buildings. The province is now offering the BC Building, Plumbing, and Fire Codes for free online.
BC Building Code
The BC Building Code (BCBC) is a provincial regulation that governs how new construction, building alterations, repairs and demolitions are completed. This code establishes minimum requirements for safety, health, accessibility, fire and structural protection of buildings and energy and water efficiency. It applies throughout the province except for some federal lands and the City of Vancouver.
Sechelt Building Permits
Building permits are essential in protecting the property owner as well as the community by ensuring that new developments are in conformity with applicable regulations, local bylaws and the BC Building Code. Building permits are required for all new construction, alterations, additions, decks, pools, chimneys, house moves, temporary buildings/structures, demolitions, structural repair, renovations and accessory buildings.
ASTTBC Bylaw
Municipalities throughout BC benefit from having certified Fire Protection Technicians (RFPTs) at work. Even though not all municipalities have as yet introduced bylaws to require certified technicians, ASTTBC certified technicians are found in most areas of the province. These technicians and their employers believe professional certification adds credibility to their services. Learn more
