The Opportunity:

For over 80 years, the Sechelt Fire Department has provided fire protection and rescue services to the citizens of the District of Sechelt and the shíshálh Nation. The Administrative Assistant will be an integral part of the leadership team within the fire department. The Job:

The Administrative Assistant is directly responsible and reports to the Deputy Controller. In addition, the Administrative Assistant may also receive direction from the Fire Chief as required. This position will provide administrative and clerical support services in a confidential capacity to the Sechelt Fire Department. Major duties of this position include:

      • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
      • Taking, compiling, and distributing meeting minutes
      • Organizing statistics and graphs for various monthly and annual reports
      • Records management of all emergency and non-emergency incidents
      • Providing front counter service to the public
      • Providing clerical support services to department Staff & Volunteers
