2025 Campfire Ban Rescinded in the Coastal Fire Centre
Effective at 12 p.m. (noon) PDT on Wednesday, September 17, Category 1 open fires (campfires) will be enacted across the Coastal Fire Centre, including the Haida Gwaii Forest District and the portion of the Central Regional District that falls within the North Island Central Coast Forest District.
Campfires and wood-burning appliances such as saunas, hot tubs, pizza ovens, chimneas, etc. are permitted in the Coastal Fire Centre at this time.

The Coastal Fire Centre has rescinded the campfire ban. The Coastal Fire Centre covers ALL area of the Sunshine Coast including: public, private, park, beach, and shÃshálh Nation lands. Get up-to-date information and news on the Coastal Fire Centre website.
Campfires, binary exploding targets, burn barrels, and wood-fired appliances are: PERMITTED.
Fireworks are: NOT PERMITTED
Gas powered fire rings are PERMITTED with flame height less than 15cm.
Briquette barbecues are PERMITTED, dispose of ashes properly.
